Ray Hart Memorial ScholarshipDr Ray Hart was a graduate of the University of Western Australia who worked as an ecologist and environmental scientist, consulting to Government and industry. Ray's work covered all aspects of flora, vegetation and fauna ecology, and his focus was always to achieve sound environmental management through integration of environmental principles in his projects.

Ray pursued excellence in all his endeavours, and he often initiated new ways of solving environmental problems. He had great skill in interpretation of natural systems but never lost the ability to just enjoy the native bush. Ray was a driving force behind the formation of the Environmental Consultants' Association and its Foundation President. He served the Association as President and later committee member until his untimely death in 2003.

This Scholarship has been established as a constructive way of remembering him, and his contribution to the environmental science community in Western Australia. The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and assist a deserving student to pursue field research in natural history.
