Claire has been with Biologic for over nine years, joining the team after graduating with Honours in Zoology and Conservation Biology from the University of Western Australia. During that time, she has developed specialised experience with threatened fauna in the Pilbara region, having undertaken numerous Level 2 and targeted monitoring surveys for ghost bat, northern quoll, mulgara, and pilbara olive python, as well as SRE invertebrate surveys. Recently, Claire has become more involved in projects across the Perth region and south-west, developing skills in surveying for threatened species such as chuditch, western swamp tortoise, quenda, and black cockatoos, including the identification and mapping of potential foraging and breeding habitat. She has multiple publications covering her Honours research into the habitat preferences of water rats (Hydromys chrysogaster) across the Perth region. Following completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Environmental Assessment and Management at Murdoch University in 2013, where she was awarded the Jacobs SKM Environmental Management and Planning Prize, Claire has broadened her consultancy skills into Environmental Impact Assessments. She has now completed high-quality assessments for multiple clients across the Pilbara and south-west on varying spatial scales. Claire has been involved in over fifty projects throughout Western Australia across the entire consulting process, from project management, desktop surveys, coordinating and undertaking field surveys, data management, analysis and assessment, and report writing. She takes pride in seeking external practical and theoretical training and experience, including involvement in wildlife-related research, and completion of animal ethics, handling, and rehabilitation courses, and environmental-related workshops and conferences.
