Profile
Emma is an environmental professional with a diverse range of experience including environmental approvals, operational support, mine closure planning, environmental management systems and auditing. She helps her clients understand and manage their environmental risks so that they can get on with business. Emma brings to her projects an ability to integrate technical information from a range of disciplines while retaining a focus on the overarching objectives.
Her objective with every project is to improve efficiency and simplify processes. This is driven by a consideration of diverse factors such as environmental impacts, community and workforce impacts, operational requirements, cost, and practicality. Emma’s skills in this area include undertaking multi-criteria analysis, risk identification and assessment, streamlining environmental management requirements, and sustainability measurement and reporting.
Emma has a strong background in legal and compliance requirements and she has worked on numerous environmental approval projects, including works approvals, native vegetation clearing permits, environmental licence amendments, licences under the Rights in Water and Irrigation Act 1914 and planning approvals. Emma has been involved with project planning, including defining project requirements, cost-benefit analysis, multi-criteria analysis, risk assessments and management, environmental impact assessment, communications planning and scheduling.
With an extensive understanding of government processes and expectations, Emma uses this knowledge to provide strategic advice regarding approvals requirements. Working closely with her clients to understand their project drivers and tailor the project delivery accordingly, Emma understands the importance of client input in developing environmental management strategies that are realistic and appropriate.
Emma employs her research skills to develop a thorough understanding of every different project, each with their own particular intricacies and challenges. Emma applies her core skills such as knowledge of government requirements and legislation, good written and interpersonal communication, and analytical problem solving skills to each project to ensure a quality outcome. She has the initiative and understanding of processes necessary to follow a project through from inception to completion.
