Huia Adkins is GHD’s Circular Economy lead in Australia. She is an experienced leader in circular economy and sustainability with over 20 years in the public, private and tertiary sectors. She has a keen focus on researching global circular economy best practice principles and strategies and implementing these in the Australian context across a wide range of sectors.

Huia has held senior roles in the private sector in her own circular economy consultancy and across other consultancies in waste management and resource recovery and sustainability positions. She has always worked across government and the tertiary sector in a range of environmental protection, land-use planning, research, and policy roles.

Huia shares her knowledge of the circular economy across a range of stakeholder groups and is a founding member of Circular Economy WA. As a respected public speaker and facilitator, Huia has been invited to present and facilitate sessions locally and nationally on designing for circularity, resource efficiency, sustainable procurement, circularity in the built environment, and delivered circular economy masterclass education.
