Michael Curran has a B Sc (Hons) degree in Conservation Biology/Environmental Management from the University of Western Australia and seven years of experience as biologist with Bennelongia Environmental Consultants.

Michael mostly undertakes desktop and field based impact assessments associated with SRE invertebrate species and subterranean fauna but he also has considerable experience in assessment of the flora and fauna of wetlands. He has worked throughout Western Australia and also in the Northern Territory. Having grown up in the Kimberley, Michael has great capacity and endurance for field work and a genuine interest in working with Traditional Owners.

Michael’s technical skills include strong invertebrate identification skills, especially for species in the SRE groups, considerable capacity with GIS applications, computer databases and IT issues, and the extraction and analysis of DNA samples from small invertebrates. Michael has prepared many assessment reports used under Part IV of the WA Environmental Protection Act 1986. He is also familiar with the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
