Anna Jacks
Profile
Anna is a zoologist with extensive experience across a wide range of fauna survey disciplines. Her work spans basic and detailed fauna assessments; targeted surveys for conservation-significant species; waterbird and shorebird surveys; short-range endemic (SRE) invertebrate assessments; subterranean fauna studies; and both terrestrial and aquatic macro-invertebrate surveys.
Since 2002, Anna has contributed to fauna research and survey programs within both private consultancy and government sectors. During her time with the Department of Environment and Conservation (now DBCA), she worked within science and research teams focusing on biodiversity and the ecological requirements of aquatic systems across Western Australia.
Since transitioning to environmental consulting in 2007, Anna has held diverse roles including section manager, project manager, lead zoologist, taxonomist, data analyst, report author and reviewer, and provided advice for impact assessments, management plans, and regulator requests. She has delivered fauna components for a wide variety of projects, including linear infrastructure (ports, roads, rail, and trails) and mining tenements.
Anna also brings advanced technical capability to her work, with strong GIS skills (ArcMap and QGIS), and formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
