Bernard Masters

Bernie graduated in 1971 from the University of WA. He worked for twelve years in the mining industry, with responsibilities in environmental impact assessments, environmental protection, public relations and post-mining rehabilitation. For five years, he worked for the state government in environmental protection and wildlife conservation. In 1989, Bernie started a consulting business, providing services to local government, private developers and mining companies. In 1996, he was elected as the state MP for Vasse which included three years as opposition spokesperson on the environment. In 2005, he returned to consulting and is currently deputy chair of the South West Catchments Council. He is also a director of FIA Technology which manufactures vegetated floating islands for water quality improvement and wildlife habitat creation.
