Profile

Kaya,

I am focused on ensuring environmental management is integral in development, planning decisions and ingrained in society's values. Ecosystem health and ecological literacy is essential for survival in the Anthropocene. I aim to play a role in assisting government, private land managers, and general society to reconnect to nature and sustainability principles, as we move towards more environmentally minded society.

I have nurtured a professional career in the Botanical, Conservation, NRM and Impact Assessment industry; specialising as a botanist of the Esperance Kwongkan Shrublands and Fitzgerald Biosphere. I am highly experienced in leading and coordinating Reconnaissance, Targeted and Details Flora Surveys, vegetation and ecological assessments, environmental approvals for development such as clearing permits, education programs internally and externally to the general public, coastal restoration programs, revegetating planning and strategic land management planning.

I work for myself as a private consultant through my business Caladenia Co - reach out and say hello if you're interested in having a chat on what I can offer. I work as a technical botanist, ecologist and environmental scientist, and dabble in my passions of botanical artworks, environmental education, scientific communicator, nature photography, and sustainable floristry.
